The Chiefs have released safety Eric Berry. The five-time Pro-Bowler will be a free agent today. The Chiefs have been rumored to trading Berry, but from what it looks like they could not strike a deal with anyone. Berry would have $7.25 Million coming his way Friday, but now the Chiefs free up around $9 Million in cap space.

The Chiefs have signed safety Tyrann Mathieu, so they move on from Berry and believe that Mathieu has better value.
