Injuries stand as a teams biggest competitor
- Updated: February 19, 2013
Several teams are facing a slew of injuries and in a shortened season this might just mean we will start to see the separation of the contenders from the brittle. Team including Boston, Carolina, and Philadelphia are facing several key injuries including Horton, Savard, Skinner, Pitkanen, Hartnell, Nash, and Karlsson.
The odd thing is the teams who are having issues with injuries are finding ways to win. The NHL is full of youth who are ready to take the ice and earn a spot. The factors that can weigh into how far these teams last in the race for the playoffs is how fast these key guys can come back and how long the youth can stay fluent.
The season is nearing its halfway point and some teams have yet to claim five wins but a question people are asking is if Chicago will walk away without a point from a game. Chicago maintains a record of 12-0-3.
