My new found joy in the sports world is betting on sports, but I have no idea what I’m doing. Yeah, I win a few games here cash out there, but for the most part I suck. Now, I’m not going around like I own the world betting big bucks, I’m basically just using the free sign up bonuses that these betting websites offer like DraftKings and FanDuel to see how far I get and I gotta be honest with you, I’m lasting longer than I thought I would. In addition to that, betting is wicked stressful, and I don’t think I can handle it half the time, but I manage (as my hair turns gray).
Another thing I honestly regret are the survivor pools I entered this NFL season: survivor pools. So, I entered two pools, one with the fam and another of just college friends; I was knocked out the first week with my family and had to buy back in for $25 which I knew I couldn’t afford to lose, but sure enough come week 2 BAM out like a light. Same thing happens in the other pool just 3 weeks later (yet that commissioner doesn’t know I still owe him money 😬).
Take away from all of this is that I need a 4-credit class on sports betting and just crunch some numbers like they do in Money Ball and become Alan from The Hangover and just be magically good at handling my money.
