Jason Kidd who was just recently fired by the Milwaukee Bucks told reporters that Bucks star Giannis Antetokounmpo tried everything to save his job.
About 15 minutes before the team announced the firing Giannis and Kidd talked.
Giannis said “What can I do? I’ll call the owners. I’ll call my agent”
Kidd replied with “There’s nothing you can do. All you can do is tell the truth. That’s it.”
Assistant coach Joe Prunty will serve as the interim coach.
The Bucks have fallen in January, going 4-7 and dropping four of their last five games. They have fallen to 23-22 overall and are one game ahead of the Detroit Pistons for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.
The team was just 139-152 with Kidd as the head coach and lost in the first round both times it made the playoffs.
