Thursday- The LAnse Purple Hornets boys basketball team traveled to Houghton to take on the Gremlins.

The third quarter was all Houghton as they pulled to a 45-29 lead as the Hornets scored two points in the entire quarter.

“For a lot of 1st time Varsity players and only 1 starter from last year we played very well for 3 quarters. The 1st half we missed 10 wide open layups and got killed on the glass and were only down 5 at the half. The 3rd quarter was the difference in the game we got out scored 13-2 and were 1-10 from the field. With Sirard having 3 fouls in the 1st half we wanted to attack the glass in the 3rd quarter but we got stagnant and settled for jump shots rather then attacking the rim. The 4th quarter we held them to 1 fg but they were 7-10 from the line in the 4th. If we continue to box out and play good defense we will be fine. “ – LAnse coach -Kyle Koski.
