One of the greatest moments through NFL Draft weekend is seeing a prospect get emotional when he gets the call that he’s being selected by one of the 32 teams in any of the seven rounds.

The biggest emotional story of last night came when the Green Bay Packers called up former University of Michigan defensive lineman Rashan Gary.

Being selected 12th overall, Gary was seen on TV breaking down in tears of joy after he realizing his dream of playing professional football came true. Surrounded by family, friends and former coaches, Gary celebrated his selection at a draft party in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

Gary’s career at Michigan saw him recording 9.5 sacks, 119 total tackles (23 for loss of yards), and one forced fumble.

Gary is expected to join a Packers defense that continues to provide depth for both the young and older players on the team. He’s also joined up with a fellow first-round pick, for which Green Bay traded up to #21 with the Seattle Seahawks, University of Maryland safety Darnell Savage Jr.

Even with the emotions shown during his selection video across the NFL networks, Gary is excited to be part of the 13-time World Champion organization.
