Gasol reaches 15,000

Coach Mike D’Antoni hasn’t even stepped foot on the hardwood and yet the Los Angles Lakers are winning games. Lakers power forward Pau Gasol’s jumper in the third quarter against the Houston Rockets gave him 15,000 career points. He is the first Spaniard to get 15,000 points and 10th foreign player to do so. ”It feels good,” Gasol said after the game. “I think it’s something to be proud of and I’m happy that I’ve been able to reach this milestone and I want to continue. I want to continue to be as productive as I’ve been throughout my career and it feels good. It’s a good milestone to reach.” Source ESPN Dave McMenamin. Gasol is in company with Hakeem Olajuwon, Dominique Wilkens, Patrick Ewing, Dirk Nowitzki, Tim Duncan, Rolando Blackman, teammate Steve Nash, Kiki Vandeweghe, and finally Detlef Schrempf. Pau Gasol was traded on from the Memphis Grizzlies for Kwame Brown, Javaris Crittenton, Aaron Mckkie and the rights for his younger brother Marc Gasol. Gasol led the Lakers to 3 consecutive NBA finals appearances, In 2008 they went up against Boston and lost. In 2011 they went up against the Orlando Magic and they won that series. Giving Pau his first NBA championship. The upcoming year they played Boston. This time the Lakers prevailed. Giving Pau his 2nd championship.
