Fourth and Inches: Chargers WR Vincent Brown breaks ankle on touchdown catch

During last nights preseason game against the Cowboys and Chargers the second year wide receiver, Vincent Brown had a bit of trouble while scoring a touchdown. X-rays revealed that Brown had broke his ankle.

After catching a 18-yard touchdown from backup quarterback Charlie Whitehurst, putting the Chargers down only 3, Brown was carted off the field with two catches for 31 yards.

“He’s had a great offseason, he’s in the middle of having an outstanding training camp, and he obviously is a playmaker,” Chargers coach Norv Turner told the team’s official website earlier in the week.

The young wide-out was supposed to play a bigger role in this seasons offense. Last season he ended up with, 329 yards and a pair of touchdowns.

He will undergo surgery Sunday. He’s expected to miss at least eight weeks. This is very bad news for the Chargers.
