The XFL come back is right around the corner with the league relaunching in 2020.

No players were signed to the league, until this past Thursday. Former Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback, Landry Jones, became the first player signed to the league.

Jones had been out of football since 2019 technically but hasn’t played in a game since 2017 with the Steelers. Jones was signed to the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2018 but was released a few weeks after signing. The first XFL signing also signed with the Oakland Raiders in 2019 but was cut before the 2019 season even began.

Jones was a backup for Ben Roethlisberger and didn’t get much time to start, only starting in 5 games from 2013-2017, playing in 19 total. Jones had a career completion percentage of 63.9 %, passed for 1,310 yards, threw 8 touchdown passes, and had 7 interceptions.

Hopefully, with Jones being the first signing in the XFL he can relaunch his football career.
