Chris Bosh announced Monday that he will no longer seek a return to the NBA. Having not appeared in an NBA game since the 2015-16 season, Bosh has been debating making a return to the league for some time now. After suffering from blood clots while on the Miami Heat and failing to pass a physical no team was willing to risk a shot on the two-time NBA champion big man.

The Miami Heat are set to retire Bosh’s #1 jersey on March 26. Bosh terrorized the eastern conference during his time in the league split between both the Toronto Raptors and the Miami Heat. After being picked fourth overall by Toronto in the absolute star-studded 2003 draft class, Bosh went on to play in 11 NBA All-Star games and win two NBA titles alongside fellow 2003 draft class members Lebron James and Dwayne Wade. Bosh averaged 19.2 points, 8.5 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game for his career. Before Bosh ends up in the NBA Hall of Fame one day, The Heat will honor him by retiring his jersey, after playing a key role in bringing two NBA titles to South Beach alongside Wade and James. The NBA will miss Bosh, and his legacy will live on forever across the league as he was one of the initial true “stretch-fours” that has changed the game of basketball forever.
