Celtics recall Fab Melo from D-League

Today the Boston Celtics announced that they have recalled center Fab Melo from the D-League.

On Sunday star point guard Rajon Rondo tore his ACL, and he’ll be out for the rest of the season.

Celtics coach Doc Rivers said that “no one’s role will change” with Rondo out. (VIA: usatoday)

Melo spent most of his time this season playing for Maine. Melo did get hurt while in the D-League, he missed Mains win over Springfield on Sunday with a quad injury.

He has appeared in 19 games for Maine this season, averaging 11.3 points, 6.8 rebounds and a NBADL-high 3.8 blocks per game. He returned to action on January 11 following his bout with the concussion, averaging 11.9 points and 6.7 rebounds in seven games.
