Cameron Wake Wants Opponents To Test His Side

The Miami Dolphins have definitely improved over this past off-season, with the acquisitions the likes of tight end Jordan Cameron and of course all-star defensive tackle Ndahmakung Suh to name a few.

One part of the Miami Dolphins overall team that seem to stand out the most though is the left side of there defense. Cameron Wake, Suh and cornerback Brett Grimes all play on the left side and have a combined 11 pro bowls to there names. This goes without saying but Suh is a brickwall on two feet, Wake is a very athletic powerful defensive end and Grimes plays some of the best cover corner in the NFL. Its really an impeccable trio.

With all this said, Wake isn’t shy when it comes to boasting about his side of the Dolphins defense and had a message for the rest of the league. Wake told the Sun Sentinel that he wants all the action to come towards his side of the field. “No, they have to run left every single time, throw left every single time,” he said. “Please quote that, pass it on to all the (offensive) coordinators in the rest of the league.”

Wake and Suh also combined for 20 sacks last season, Wake had 11.5 sacks while Suh had 8.5 (which is crazy for defensive tackle.)

In four training camp practices, including two in full pads, the left side of the defense has wreaked havoc on quarterback Ryan Tannehill and the Dolphins offense. They haven’t had sustained success running or passing against Suh, Wake and Grimes.

The acquisition of Suh was a much needed one as Miami will have to face Lesean McCoy in buffalo, a comittee of back in New England headed by Lagarette Blount, and Chris Ivory behind that massive Jets O-line. All that can be said is the rest of the league has been challenged, and we will see if the left side of the Dolphins defense can live up to the hype when the season kicks off in about one months time.
