The Calgary Flames now sit in the final wild card spot in the NHL’s Western Conference on November 1st, thanks to an incredible between the legs goal from Matthew Tkachuk.
The Flames went into Nashville Thursday night needing a point to jump into that final spot.
The Predators held the “most dangerous lead” in hockey into the third period, leading by a score of 4-1. The Flames quickly answered in the third tying the game up 4-4, scoring three goals in a 15 minute span.
The Predators stormed back to reclaim their lead with less than a minute and a half left in regulation time.
All good for Nashville, right?
Not completely. Tkachuk ties the game up with 38 seconds, scoring on a rebound.
In overtime, Tkachuk would get another opportunity and delivers for the Flames with this nasty goal:
Tkachuk had 3 points on the night and now has 13 points in 15 games this season.
