You might have missed BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle the first time it came around. You should probably fix that immediately, because it’s easily one of the best 2D fighting games out there, especially with the huge variety of characters that it has available. And here’s the good news – it’s about to get even bigger.
Today, during its EVO 2019 presentation in-between the big match-ups, Aksys Games and Arc System Works confirmed that the game will see a huge 2.0 update with nine new characters joining the fray on November 21. These include a number of new favorites from a variety of franchises, including Senran Kagura and more.
These include Yumi, the powerful ninja, as well as a new character from the RWBY anime at Rooster Teeth, Neo Politan.
But that’s not all. There’s also Akatsuki from the Akatsuki Blitzkampf fighting series, something that’s sure to be an obscure favorite with fans. Oh, and for that matter, there’s also a very angry tank named Blitztank. No, it’s not a tank-like character. It’s an ACTUAL TANK. Like, you actually roll as a tank and hit enemies as a tank. It’s ridiculous. Watch the trailer below.
The remaining five characters will be revealed in the months ahead, but there’s a lot to get excited over here with these characters, as well as what’s on the way!
There will also be new stages and other balance changes introduced to the game as well, although dates haven’t been given with the updates just yet. We’ll have more details as soon as they become available.
BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle is available now for Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and PC. You can actually get it on sale for like $29.99 at most places right now (sans bonus DLC characters), so don’t hesitate to snag it!
