Best Rookie Class Ever As Far As Wins
- Updated: December 10, 2012
The 2012 Rookie Quarterback is the best class ever; as far as wins. No Rookie Class has ever amassed this many wins ever. This has shown how the game has changed. Rookie are coming into the NFL more advanced than years past. High schools and Colleges are running more pro style systems. Quarterbacks are involved in more quarterback camps. Quarterbacks are given the keys to the offense more than in past years. Quarterbacks aren’t waiting four years to start now. Maybe to an extent that the game is becoming more suited for offenses, but it’s still very impressive. There have also been so many breakout rookies this year.
This Rookie class so far has been amazing. Andrew Luck has nine wins. He is adding to his rookie record for a number one overall pick. Robert Griffin III has seven; it would be eight, but Kirk Cousins saved the day today to get his first win as a rookie. Third round pick Russell Wilson has eight wins. Brandon Weeden has five wins, Ryan Tannehill has won five games, and Nick Foles has his first win as a rookie as well. This class has combined for 36 wins that is unheard of from rookies in the NFL. These classes are few and far in between.
This may not be the 83 class of rookies or even 2004, but they are staking their claim as the best ever as far as wins in rookie season. It’s a breath of fresh air that when the likes of Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and Drew Brees retire the NFL will be in good hand with good young arms. The pressure is on the new rookie class coming in next year. All the teams that are looking for quarterbacks will be looking for a repeat of this class. Next years class may not be as good as this one.
