Arizona Cardinals DB Josh Shaw has been suspended indefinitely through at least the end of the 2020 NFL season by NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.
Why? For betting on NFL games multiple times this season, the league announced in a statement Friday.
“The continued success of the NFL depends directly on each of us doing everything necessary to safeguard the integrity of the game and the reputations of all who participate in the league. At the core of this responsibility is the longstanding principle that betting on NFL games, or on any element of a game, puts at risk the integrity of the game, damages public confidence in the NFL, and is forbidden under all circumstances.” Goodell said in a statement. “If you work in the NFL in any capacity, you may not bet on NFL football.”
Shaw is currently on Injured Reserve and cant play.
Barstool Sports founder Dave Portnoy is fed up even more with Goodell now:
Roger is such a buzzkill. You can commit major crimes against humanity and still play. But if your on injured reserve and bet on games legally you get banned for life @nflcommish pic.twitter.com/CQmLDzBWmW— Dave Portnoy (@stoolpresidente) November 29, 2019
Arizona is 3-7-1, hopefully he wasn’t betting on his own team. He might be broke!
