Anonymous Jets Strike Again
Anonymously criticizing some aspect of their team, most often Mark Sanchez, seems to be becoming every bit as common as making promises you can’t keep for players of the New York Jets.
Quarterback Mark Sanchez fell victim to a nameless foe inside his own locker room again today, as an anonymous player decided to state that Sanchez is the problem, and Geno Smith is the answer. “Everyone on the team likes Mark personally,” said the player, “but there’s a general feeling among some of the players that maybe it’s time to give someone else a chance.”
Despite the criticism, Sanchez performed in practice today like it was a real game, which is to say, well, he didn’t do very well – but neither did Geno Smith.
This was the second day in a row that both quarterbacks performed poorly, but that doesn’t come as too much of a surprise to anybody. Both quarterbacks are adjusting to another new offense, the third new offense for Sanchez in his four years in the league, and the wet weather certainly played a role in their performances.
The team has made it known that they hope to disintegrate any quarterback controversy before the start of training camp, but it won’t be easy for them to figure out which quarterback should start when both are playing poorly.
