AFC Championship Game Review

SUPER BOWL BOUND!!
The New England Patriots are heading to Super Bowl 52, after defeating the Jacksonville Jaguars 24-20 in a highly competitive game.

Jacksonville looked early on as if they where to physical for the Patriots, flying around and harassing Tom Brady, making his life miserable in the pocket.

Until a late second half score by the pats, the Jags looked like the superior football team. Blake Bortles channeled his inner Tom Brady and seemed near flawless in the first half leading the Jags to a 14-10 halftime lead. Rookie Leonard Fournette paved the way and continuously trucking Patriots defenders, looking like he was dancing with the stars spinning around.

The second half was a back and forth affair, trading field position back and forth. Defenses both stepped up and played tough, making the offenses earn there money. The fourth quarter was all Patriots as they scored two touchdowns to take the lead. James White, Dion Lewis and Danny Amendola all had huge plays leading to scores, but the play off the game perhaps belonged to another Pat.

With the Jags desperate for a score Blake Bortles hung a pass up deep, and looked to have his man, until Stephone Gilmore smacked down the sailing ball. That allowed the Pats to take a knee and head back to the Super Bowl where they await the winner of the Minnesota Vikings and Philadelphia Eagles.

Tom Brady had 290 yards passing with 2 TDs on 26/38 attempts Dion Lewis led Patriots rushers with 34 yards on 9 carries, Brandon Cooks had 6 receptions for 100 yards . Danny Amendola had both receiving TDS.

Blake Bortles had 293 yards and a TD on 23/36 attempts. Fournette had 76 yards rushing and Allen Hurns led the Jags recivers with 80 yards. Mercedes Lewis had the lone receiving TD.

This will be the 8th Super Bowl for the Patriots. A win would tie them with the Pittsburgh Steelers with 6, most all time. Congratulations to the Patriots as they move on, and I have a feeling this isn’t the last time we have seen the Jags.
