Paul George may be suspended for game 7
It’s bad enough the Indiana Pacers are in danger of being upset by the Atlanta Hawks, but it could get worse. Paul George, the Pacers’ star shooting guard, may face a suspension for an altercation in game six.
Now, it’s conspicuous George Hill and Mike Scott engaged in the physical confrontation. Initially, you might not even spot where George was amidst the skirmish. That’s because he wasn’t even on the court during the dispute, and instead can be seen animate on the bench, having to be held back by Popeye Jones and Rasual Butler.
This does not seem like a big deal, but it is vehemently discouraged in the NBA rule book: “During an altercation, all players not participating in the game must remain in the immediate vicinity of their bench. Violators will be suspended, without pay, for a minimum of one game and fined up to $50,000.”
The deciding game seven takes place on Saturday at 5:30 p.m. eastern time in Indiana. The verdict will be disclosed before then and most likely later today so the Pacers can plan accordingly.
