Players to Watch in the Title Game for Dynasty Players
WR Kelvin Benjamin FSU Redshirt Sophomore
Kelvin Benjamin has been Quarterback Jameis Winston’s number one target the entire season and has been one of the more explosive receivers in the nation. At 6’5 234 lbs, Benjamin has the ideal body frame of an NFL wide receiver and he has shown speed that will enable him to get past NFL defenders. I do think his 40 time in the combine will have a big impact on where he goes in dynasty rookie drafts. If Benjamin runs a sub 4.48 second 40 he will likely be a top eight pick in rookie drafts. As of today, I have Benjanin at WR6 in this class and going in the 12-14 range in rookie drafts.
RB Tre Mason Auburn Junior
Not too many people knew Mason’s name prior to this years SEC Championship, but Mason had a performance that ensured you would remember his name carrying the ball 46 times for 304 yards and 4 touchdowns. His incredible performance in this game will likely vault him to a late 2nd/early 3rd round dynasty rookie pick.
RB James Wilder Jr. FSU Junior
Coming into this year, many thought Wilder would be the lead back for FSU this season, and would make his way into a high pick in the NFL draft and subsequently dynasty rookie drafts. This wasn’t the case for Wilder as fell down the depth chart behind Keiland Williams and Devonta Frreman. Despite his less than spectacular season with 542 rushing yards. I’m still a fan of him as an NFL prospect and I think he could be a steal in the 3rd round of dynasty rookie drafts.
RB Devonta Freeman FSU Junior
This year Devonta Freeman emerged among a crowded backfield to be the lead back, rushing for 943 yards. At 5’9 203 lbs, Freeman reminds me a lot of Darren Sproles, but runs with the power that we saw from Giovani Bernard coming out of North Carolina. Freeman will likely be drafted around the same time as teammate James Wilder Jr. in both the NFL and dynasty drafts.
A look towards 2015
QB Jameis Winston FSU Redshirt Freshman
Jameis Winston was a national sensation since practically the beginning of the season. He is by far the favorite to be the first quarterback selected in the 2015 draft. The Auburn defense will be a good test for Winston and it will give us a look into how Winston will thrive with the pressure of being in the National Championship.
