Andrew Butcher took the time to do an interview with Pro Sports Extra. He is a defensive end that is committed to play football for the Tennessee Volunteers in the 2015 class. We hope that you enjoy this interview!
Q. Thanks for taking the time to do this interview Andrew, how are you?
A. Very good, thank you.
Q. What were the deciding factors that made you commit to the Vols?
A. Love the relationships that I’ve built with the coaches, the facilities, and I have family ties to UT.
Q. How would you describe your game to a fan who hasn’t seen much of your play?
A. I’m very explosive, violent, and physical. I have a great get off as well.
Q. Is there anyone in college football right now that you would compare your game to?
A. Not sure. I’ve been told that I play like Will Overstreet and David Pollack.
Q. What areas of your game do you feel that you need to improve in the most?
A. Like all D-Linemen, my pad level.
Q. Who was your favorite college football team growing up?
Q. What advice would you give to a young DE with D-1 dreams?
A. Just keep on busting your butt in the weight room and with speed work. hard work truly does pay off.
Q. What do you enjoy doing in your free time off the field?
A. Hanging out with friends and lifting weights.
Q. What are your goals for your career with the Vols?
A. Personal, All-SEC, All-American. Team, win the SEC championship, win the national championship and make a bowl every year.
Q. Are you close with any other college football players?
A. Josh Dobbs and Carl Lawson.
Q. If you had to send a message to the Vols fans, what would it be?
A. I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else, GBO!
