Geno Atkins Done for Season with Torn ACL

Miami, FL - The Cincinnati Bengals lost to the Miami Dolphins tonight in Thursday Night Football, but their loss in the game was not their only loss on the night. Geno Atkins, the Bengals’ star defensive lineman went down with a torn ACL and will not return this season.

Cincinnati signed Atkins to a five-year, $55 million deal this past offseason, and this is an obvious huge loss for their defense. Atkins had been having a great season, with 5.0 sacks to this point and was a major piece in the Bengals’ run defense and pass rush.  He’ll be missed as the season continues on and there is no doubt that the Bengals will have a hole in the front of their defense.

More tests will be done on Friday, but from the sound of things, he will not be returning this season.
