Both the Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins started the season 2-0. Before this season, both teams had a lot of troubles. The Chiefs were the worst team last year, and the Dolphins went 7-9, a usual final record for them, but the light seems to be shining on them now. Key pickups include Mike Wallace for the Dolphins, and Alex Smith for the Chiefs.
The Dolphins and Chiefs have a lot of talent at multiple positions. Dwayne Bowe, Ryan Tannehill, Mike Wallace, Jamaal Charles, and Brandon Flowers. They both have decent defenses. They seem destined for a winning record, but don’t let this fool you. The Dolphins and Chiefs do have the Patriots and Broncos in their division.
So can they make the playoffs? Honestly, I think it is possible, but I don’t think so. The Chiefs have an easy schedule excluding two Denver games and one Houston game. The Dolphins have the Patriots twice, and a 3 game stretch of the Falcons, Saints, and Ravens.
Final verdict. The Chiefs go 11-5 getting a 5th seed wild card berth while the Dolphins go 10-6 and barely miss the playoffs. Both teams have extreme talent and definitely could make a run, but sometimes we need to recognize a contender from a pretender.
