Clippers Officially Sign Jamison to One-Year Deal
After news came out earlier today that the Clippers and F Antawn Jamison were in contract talks, the Clips have officially signed the 15-year veteran to a 1-year deal worth the veteran’s minimum, about $1.4 million.
Marc Spears of Yahoo! Sports reported that the Chicago Bulls and Memphis Grizzlies were also interested in adding the versatile forward, but Jamison wanted to sign with LA all along.
“Just happy to be a Clipper and contend for a championship,” Jamison told ESPN Los Angeles’s Ramona Shelbourne.
Jamison averaged 9.4 PPG and 4.8 RPG in 21.5 minutes a game last season with the Lakers.
