Pacers Stun Knicks In Game 1
- Updated: May 6, 2013
The second round of the Eastern Conference playoffs opened with a great game out of Madison Square Garden, between the New York Knicks and the Indiana Pacers.
The second seeded Pacers came into the Garden in NYC hoping to pull off the upset on the road, to take control of the series early, and that’s exactly what they did.
For the first half of the game, the Pacers had the upper hand, heading into half time with a solid 8 point lead over the home team. The Knicks regained the lead late in the game, but it was not enough to stop the surging Pacers.
Pacers power forward David West had a solid game on the offensive side of the ball, dropping 20 points on Knicks big men Tyson Chandler and Kenyon Martin.
One player in particular who stepped up for Indiana is former high school standout guard Lance Stephenson, scoring 11 points to go along with a hefty 13 rebounds, which Stephenson fought tooth and nail for, showing his grit.
The Knicks and Pacers stay in New York for Game 2 at Madison Square Garden, as the Knicks try to even the series at one game apiece.
