Lopez to be an all-star
- Updated: February 1, 2013
The all star snub who was passed over will now be an all-star as David Stern on Wednesday selected Brook Lopez, who is averaging 18.6 points and 7.3 rebounds for the Nets.
In my point of view, this is well deserved as Lopez has been putting in some real work for this team who is sitting pretty in the Eastern Conference. Without him, the Nets wouldn’t be where they are right now. Lopez had this to say about it
“It’s a huge honor,” Lopez said in a statement. “First and foremost I couldn’t have done it without my teammates. They make my job 100 times easier, playing with Deron , Joe, Gerald, they gift wrap me buckets and take a lot of attention away from me on the court. It is something I have been working towards and it’s been a goal of mine and it will definitely be an exciting weekend.”
As Lopez makes a huge leap in his career, he will look to make not just an impact in the all-star game, but also for his team as they look to make a deep postseason run.
Either way I’m glad to see a hard worker like Brook Lopez get credit for the work he has done for the Nets.
