Can Clippers match 33?
- Updated: December 29, 2012
As most of you know by now, the Los Angles Clippers are on a 14 game winning streak. The Clippers in my opinion have the deepest bench in the NBA right now. They have a mix of veteran talent and rookie players. Chris Paul is the floor general on the team. The team had Chauncey Billups on the team for a while until he got hurt. Clippers have been on a role recently. As most of you the 1971-1972 Lakers have a remarkable feat that no one in the NBA has come close to even matching. Those Lakers won a record of 33 games in a row. Well I’m not really nervous right now that the Los Angles Clippers beating the record or even close even to matching it. The Clippers don’t have a really big man that can dominate. The 1971-1972 had a guy named Wilt Chamberlain, but the Clippers don’t currently have anyone someone of his stature. The Lakers also had a guy named Jerry West. As most of you know he is the logo of the NBA.
“After opening the season at 6-3, the Lakers ran away from the field with their 33-game winning streak and rolled to a 69-13 record, the best in NBA history until the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls won 72 games. The Lakers topped the NBA in scoring (121.0 ppg), rebounding (56.4 rpg), assists (27.2 apg) and point differential (+12.3 ppg). They were 36-5 at home, 2-1 on neutral courts and an amazing 31-7 on the road-the Lakers’ .816 road winning percentage stands as the best in NBA history”. Source NBA.com
