Darius Morris’ Future with the Los Angeles Lakers

Darius Morris is having a so so year this season, under former coach Mike Brown and current coach Mike D’Antoni. Morris is in second year of his pro career. Morris played college basketball for Michigan. Morris has been starting lately. The reason why is because of the Lakers injury to Steve Nash and Steve Blake. So far this season, Morris is currently averaging 5.2 points per game, 1.6 rebounds per game, and 2.5 assists per game. Once Steve Nash comes back Morris would unfortunately be forced to go back to the D-League or even get cut from the team. He and Chris Duhon are competing for a roster spot. Morris field goal percentage is also improving as his minutes stay steady. He doesn’t turn the ball over as much when he is on the court.
“In 19 games last season, Morris totaled 46 points. Through eight games this season, including three starts, Morris already has 51 points”. Source ESPN.
Hopefully when Nash and Blake come back, the Lakers will keep him.
