The Denver Broncos aren’t just Peyton Manning, they are a complete team. So called experts and analyst thought the Denver Broncos would be this good this fast. They questioned the same defense that kept Tim Tebow within striking reach of opponent’s so he can make miraculous come back after comeback. This defense is headlined by Champ Bailey, Elvis Demervil, and Von Miller. Jack Del Rio has this defense playing superb. The Denver Broncos have the best second half scoring differential in the NFL. It takes more than 3 players to solidify a defense. Non household names are starting to become household names.
Other than Bailey, Demervil, and Miller, the Broncos have some nice young talent on display on defense. After losing prize free agent Tracy Porter they hoped to team with Champ Bailey. He started in Denver with a bang with a pick six reminiscent of the one he had in the Super Bowl for the Saints to help beat his now teammate Peyton Manning in the Super Bowl 2 years ago. He suffered a seizure in August and has shown some effects from the seizure, that’s why the Broncos are being patient with him, their not going to put his health at risk. Now step in unrestricted rookie free agent Chris Harris who played surprisingly well last year, he has filled in nicely this year. He has 2 INT’s one of which sealed the Denver Broncos historic come from behind road win against San Diego in week six. Then step in Tony Carter another undrafted free agent. He has 2 INT’s one of which he returned against Carolin for a TDA last week and a crucial fumble recovery returned for a touch down to help spark the Broncos come back against San Diego.
The Broncos also added key free agents, Mike Adams, Keith Brooking, and Jim Leonhard. The drafting of Derek Wolfe also helped. Getting DJ Williams back from suspension will be vital down the stretch. Robert Ayers, Kevin Vickerson, Wesley Woodyard, and Rahim Moore are all playing some great football. Jack Del Rio is bringing out the best in this defensive unit. The Broncos are the most improved defense in football. Through 10 games this season the Denver Broncos defense has yet to allow a 300 yard passer, not bad going against the likes of Brees, Brady, Ryan, Schaub and Rivers.
